How to Block Lost/Stolen Mobile Phone in Pakistan?

If you have lost your mobile phone and want to block/deactivate it so that this mobile phone handset can not be used anywhere in Pakistan, please read this article you will find the procedure to block your stolen mobile phone.

Mobile Phone Theft/ Robbery/ Snatch cases are very common in big cities especially in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Peshawar…. Such type of incidents are more often in Karachi where 100s of handsets are being snatched everyday.
You must know the IMEI of your handset to block it. So it is my suggestion to all my readers that you should always note IMEI of all mobile phones possesses by you and your family.

What is IMEI Number?
IMEI stands for "International Mobile Equipment Identity" and it is unique for every GSM Mobile Phone while Dual SIM Mobiles have two IMEI numbers for both individual SIM ports; M_IMEI and S_IMEI. Mobile Phone Service Provider Companies use IMEI number to identify mobile phones and thus they can use IMEI to stop services to any specific mobile phone handset. In this way specific mobile phone will become useless and will not work with any SIM of any mobile phone company (Zong, Ufone, Telenor, Mobilink, Warid etc) .

How to find IMEI Number?
You can find IMEI number of your mobile phone (Nokia, LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, BlackBerry, HTC, Samsung, Q Mobile, China Mobiles....) from:
1. Warranty Card
2. Sticker under Battery
or
3. Simply by dialing *#06# from your mobile phone

How to Report Lost Mobile Phone?
You can block your mobile phone through either of the following ways:

Online Theft Complaint Form of CPLC
Visit following link of Citizen Police Liaison Committee, Karachi.
Fill the given form by putting some information e.g. Incident Date & Place, IMEI Number, Mobile Number, Mobile Model & Brand, You name and contact information… and hit submit button.

How to Reactivate Your Mobile Phone?
If you have reported theft of your mobile phone and later on found it back and want to reactivate it again. So in this way you have to contact the authorities in the same way that you used to block the mobile phone set.

Pakistan is one of those countries wherein millions of people though uses cellular phone yet do not know how many SIMs are registered in their name. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has developed a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) information system to address associated risks on security and to ensure subscription regulations in cellular sector.
Now you can find that how many total number of SIMs are registered on your name.



Free From Mobile:
Just send your CNIC number (with out dashes i.e. 1234512345678) to 668 from any Mobile number. You will get a response with number of connections issued against this CNIC for 6 companies (Mobilink, Warid, Zong, Telenor, SCO and Ufone).
Service won’t tell you cell numbers, instead it will actually tell you amount of numbers.
For instance:
Mobilink 3,
Ufone 3,
Telenor 2,
SCO 0,
Warid 0
Total 8.
If you found any thing wrong, you may visit concerned Customer Service Center for correction.
