What is IMEI Number?
IMEI stands for "International Mobile Equipment Identity" and it is unique for every GSM Mobile Phone while Dual SIM Mobiles have two IMEI numbers for both individual SIM ports; M_IMEI and S_IMEI. Mobile Phone Service Provider Companies use IMEI number to identify mobile phones and thus they can use IMEI to stop services to any specific mobile phone handset. In this way specific mobile phone will become useless and will not work with any SIM of any mobile phone company (Zong, Ufone, Telenor, Mobilink, Warid etc) .
How to find IMEI Number?
You can find IMEI number of your mobile phone (Nokia, LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, BlackBerry, HTC, Samsung, Q Mobile, China Mobiles....) from:
1. Warranty Card
2. Sticker under Battery
or
3. Simply by dialing *#06# from your mobile phone
How to Report Lost Mobile Phone?
You can block your mobile phone through either of the following ways:
Online Theft Complaint Form of CPLC
Visit following link of Citizen Police Liaison Committee, Karachi.
Fill the given form by putting some information e.g. Incident Date & Place, IMEI Number, Mobile Number, Mobile Model & Brand, You name and contact information… and hit submit button.
